A blessed "Good morning!" from the South African Family Relief Project (SAFRP) New Creation Church which has just been granted Christian Leaders Alliance Soul Center status last night to the praise of our only Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ! It's my honour and privilege to introduce the founders and Directors of the SAFRP NPC (South African 501(c) equivalent Not-for-Profit Company) Mrs Leigh Du Preez and Marius, her husband by way of today's verse that of love, peace and joy (Galatians 5:22). We are encouraged by Jesus during His teaching on earth (Luke 11:13) and by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14 to earnestly seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are distinct from the fruits of the Holy Spirit but the more we are gifted the more fruit we bear. In 1 Corinthians 14:1, the apostle Paul encourages believers to "pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." Here, Paul emphasizes the importance of love as the foundation for all spiritual gifts. He highlights prophecy as a particularly valuable gift because it edifies, encourages, and comforts the church (1 Corinthians 14:3). The focus is on building up the body of Christ through clear and understandable communication, which benefits everyone in the church gathering. In Luke 11:13, Jesus says, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" This verse underscores the generosity and goodness of God. Jesus assures us that God is eager to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. This reflects the new covenant reality where believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who guides, comforts, and empowers them (John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9). Both passages highlight the importance of God's gifts to believers—spiritual gifts for the edification of the church and the Holy Spirit for personal empowerment and guidance. These gifts are rooted in God's love and generosity, encouraging believers to live out their faith in love and unity. Today may you all abound in the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit as you grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God Who will give all to you generously and without reproach (James 1:5) We at SAFRP would like to welcome Dr. Giles Hartman Medical Doctor and Traumatologist, HIV/AIDS Expert and Infectious Disease Physician University of Oxford and registered Minister to our project. He is a doctor in mind body and soul. We are beyond happy to have you on board. May God bless this project and our church.
